A seminar on the topic “Say No to Corruption” was organized by the District Administration Mardan at Bacha Khan Medical College Mardan on 18^th February, 2025. Mr. Akhtar Ali Director A&P Wing NAB KP attended the seminar as the chief guest of honor and Mr. Junaid Nasir Deputy Director was also in attendance. Addressing the audience, the Director NAB KP stated that corruption is the root cause of various societal evils and needs to be eradicated for sustainable development. He emphasized that NAB works on a three-pronged strategy to eliminate corruption which includes awareness, prevention and enforcement. He further highlighted that NAB is actively working on strengthening / improving laws and procedures across various departments to close loopholes which are causing corruption. He further stressed that stronger policies, strict enforcement, and collective responsibility are key to tackling corruption effectively. The seminar was attended by officers from various government departments. Several speakers, including Nisar Ahmed Commissioner Mardan Division, Syed Muhammad Javed Commissioner (R), Mr. Riaz Mayar President Mardan Press Club, Mufti Jameel District Khateeb. Dr. Amjad Ali Dean Bacha Khan Medical College Mardan, Dr. Azmat Ullah Wazir Deputy Commissioner Mardan and Syed Fahad Iftikhar ADC Finance, highlighted the negative impact of corruption on society. Commissioner Mardan Division, in his speech, emphasized on the importance of character building of the younger generation for eradication of corruption. He further pointed out that corruption can be significantly reduced through digitization, good governance, and the computerization of land and other records. He further emphasized that eliminating corruption requires joint efforts from all sectors of society. The seminar served as a crucial platform for discussing anti-corruption strategies and reinforcing the need for transparency and accountability in governance.
