The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) stands out at the forefront of Pakistan’s institutional struggle against corruption – an insidious threat that undermines governance, hampers economic development and robs citizens of their rightful entitlements. I, on behalf of NAB Lahore reaffirm Chairman NAB’s absolute commitment to sensitize the society about the causes and effects of corruption and corrupt practices and to implement policies and procedures for the prevention and elimination of corruption as per legal mandate.
Corruption, in all its manifestations, is not merely a financial crime – but a betrayal of public trust. Of particular concern are the deeply exploitative real estate scams and Ponzi schemes that have devastated the lives of masses. These fraudulent enterprises prey upon the aspirations of ordinary people, stripping them of their life-time savings and eroding their faith in public institutions.
NAB has launched an unwavering campaign to bring individuals involved in corruption and corrupt practices to justice while simultaneously ensuring restitution and relief for victims. We are proactively expanding our outreach, streamlining complaint redressal mechanisms, and prioritizing high-impact cases that affect vast vulnerable segments of society.
Our broader vision extends beyond prosecution. We are cultivating a national culture of accountability through public engagement, institutional integrity, and educational initiatives designed to inoculate future generations against corrupt practices. We believe, formation of a corruption-free society is not an unachievable goal; it would only be possible if we as a nation remain united in our resolve and concerted against corruption.
Under the dynamic leadership of the Worthy Chairman NAB aligned with global anti-corruption initiatives, NAB Lahore is fostering a culture of integrity through a comprehensive awareness campaign. To meaningfully engage the youth, Character Building Societies (CBS) – the grassroot extension of NAB – are actively fostering burgeoning minds as social ambassadors of transparency and accountability. NAB’s focused awareness programs serve as powerful tools to instill ethical values and promote character development among the youth and society at large.
Let us join hands and efforts to combat the ever-increasing manners and forms of corruption and corrupt practices to build Pakistan as envisioned by our great Quaid, to secure justice, transparency, and moral perseverance.
Long Live Pakistan
GHULAM SAFDAR SHAH
Director General
