To commemorate International Anti-Corruption day, NAB Rawalpindi held a seminar titled Corruption Curbs Economic Growth on December 06, 2018 at Auditorium, NAB Headquarters. Students, teachers, Government officials and NAB officers attended the event. Justice JavedIqbal, Chairman NAB, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The seminar started with National Anthem, followed by recitation of the Holy Quran. Mr. IrfanNaeemMangi, DG NAB Rawalpindi, in his welcome address, thanked the guests for gracing the occasion with their presence. He also showed his gratitude to the heads of educational Institutions for working in partnership with National Accountability Bureau. He further stated that NAB follows a three pronged strategy i.e. Enforcement, Prevention and Awareness. Enforcement includes investigating the crimes of corrupt people and bringing them to book. But all these efforts would be a futile exercise if the society fails to recognize the root cause of the problem which is the societal acceptance for the corruption. NAB holds various seminars, walks, lectures etc. as part of its Awareness Campaign to address this issue. He also praised the chairman NABs policy of across the board accountability.
