A coordination meeting of Director General NAB KP with Vice Chancellors of Public Sector Universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was held at NAB KP on 19th March, 2024. The objective of meeting was to discuss issues concerning various aspects including improvement in the management, transparency, capacity building and issues of good governance for improving the performance and delivery mechanism of the universities especially in public sector. DG NAB (KP) chaired the meeting. Vice Chancellors of University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, University of Agriculture Peshawar, Bacha Khan University Charsadda, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Kohat University of Science and Technology and Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak attended the meeting. Director A&P Wing NAB KP shed light upon mandate of NAB under the Awareness & Prevention regime. DG NAB KP informed the participants about various issues of Universities which need to be resolved including Procurement, Construction Projects, Audit & Finance and Appointments / Recruitment matters etc. Subsequently, a fruitful Questions & answers session was conducted regarding the common obstacles encountered to heads of Universities in elimination of corruption from their respective spheres. DG NAB (KP) offered NAB’s unconditional support to the Vice Chancellors for smooth functioning and meritorious conduct of their offices. The DG NAB KP also offered arrangement of training sessions on corruption prone areas to Universities through NAB and invited their students, as per Chairman’s directive, for study visits to NAB office, to enlighten them about working mechanism / operational activities of NAB and their role in elimination of corruption. Director A&P Wing NAB KP appreciated the determination of VCs in eradicating corruption and concluded the session with vote of thanks.
