A meeting was held at St. Mary’s Academy Lalazar Rawalpindi on 19.07.19. The meeting was attended by Mr. AbaidullahAzam, Director A&P, Rev Fr. Asif John, National Director, Pontifical Mission Societies Pakistan, Vicar General Islamabad/Rawalpindi Diocese, Dr. AamerShahid, Dy.Director A&P,Ms. Julia BarketAsstt. Director A&P. Mr. NimarBahadarGhouri, Dy.AD, CVC and General Secretary DBE. In the meeting three pronged strategy of NAB(enforcement, prevention, and awareness), concept of establishment of character building societies was discussed in detail and it was principally agreed that character building in educational institutions (Primary-Post Graduate levels) is need to strengthen the roots of societal values, to build national character and respect for laws. It was also discussed that there is an emergent need that the character building programs must be spread and implemented in our annual educational plans as permanent features.
An Anti-corruption awareness Seminar on the topic “Corruption erodes trust in Hard Work” was held at Lawrence College Murree on 16.07.2019. The event was attended by Dr. AamerShahid, DD A&P, Ms. Julia Barket Assistant Director, Ms. Hira Ahmad, Dy. Assistant Director Witness Handling Cell, Mr.ArshadIqbal, Vice Principal Lawrence College, Faculty, management and more than 300x students. The proceedings were started with recitation of Holy Quran and National Anthem followed by address of Mr. ArshadIqbal, Principal, Lawrence College. He said accountability is need of the time. He applauded NAB team and appreciated the efforts made to spread awareness against corruption.
A meeting was held at Government Technical Training Institute for Women, JhikaGali on 11.07.2019. The meeting was attended by Mr. AbaidullahAzam, Director A&P, Ms. Julia Barket Assistant Director A&P, Ms. Farhat, Manager TEVTA and Ms. Rehana Principal, Government Technical Training Institute for Women, JhikaGali. Concept of character building societies was discussed in detail. The manger TEVTA ensured implementation of proposed anticorruption awareness plan in all institute of TEVTA.
An Anti-Corruption awareness Seminar on the topic “Break the Corruption Chain” was held at Government Technical Training Institute for Women, JhikaGali on 11.07.2019. The proceedings were started with recitation of Holy Quran followed by Hamad and Naat Sharif. Students delivered speeches in English and Urdu on various anti-corruption awareness topics. A group of students performed MilliNagma and Tableau. A detailed lecture regarding NAO 1999, vision, mission, working, operational methodology and ambit of NAB, corruption and its effects on economic development, causes of corruption was given by Ms. Julia Barket Assistant Director A&P. She also advised students, being responsible citizen of Pakistan; they should play their positive role to curb corruption. It is also elaborated that self-accountability is a first step towards a corruption free Pakistan.

In continuation of anti-corruption awareness lectures at Police College Sihala, second session of awareness lectures for the 350x trainee sub Inspectors was held at on 03.07.2019. A detailed lecture regarding working of NAB was given by Ms. Maryam Mannan, Deputy Director. The lecture was followed by concluding remarks and Q&A session by Dr. AamerShahid, Deputy Director A&P NAB Rawalpindi. All the queries of trainees were addressed amicably.
A meeting during the month of July 2019, with the Course Commander, Police College Sihala was held on 03.07.2019. The meeting was attended by Dr. AamerShahid, Deputy Director A&P, Course Commander, Police College Sihala, and Ms. Maryam Mannan, Deputy Director. In the meeting, it was principally agreed that there is an emergent need to educate the society and create awareness against the menace of corruption. The course commandeer ensured more lectures in near future.
AN Anti-Corruption Awareness Lecture was held at Police College Sihala on 28-07-2019 which was attended by more than 350 trainee Sub Inspectors. Ms. Julia Barket Asst. Director explained the NAB’s vision, mission, operational methodology, causes and effects of corruption etc. Mr. AbaidullahAzazm Director A&P gave concluding remarks and answered the queries raised by the audience.
Second seminar of the quarter was held at Govt. Girls High School KotliSattian. Mr. AbaidullahAzam, Director A&P, Mr. Aftab Ahmed Khan, Addl. Director and Ms. Julia Barket,Asst. Director, represented NAB at the event. Students from various schools delivered speeches , national songs and performed tableaus. Mr. AbaidullahAzam encouraged and praised students for their active participation. CBS oath was taken from participants and caps bearing NAB logo were distributed. The event concluded with Awareness Walk.
A seminar on the topic was held at Arts Council Murree on June 20, 2019. The event was a attended by Dr. AamerShahid , Dy. Director, Ms. Julia Barket, Asst. Director, Ms. AmnaAqilAbbassi, Dy. Asst. Director, Mr.Shahbaz, CEO Education Department Rawalpindi, principals , teachers and more than 300 students from different schools. Students delivered English and Urdu speeches and presented tableaus. After speeches and tableaus from students a detailed presentation on working and achievements of NAB was given by Ms. Julia Barket.
NAB (R) arranged a lecture at Anti-Narcotics Force Academy on April 25, 2019. Ms. Julia Barket, Assistant Director, delivered the lecture while Mr. AbaidullahAzam gave concluding remarks and addressed the queries raised. The lecture was attended by Mr. Hamid Commandant, Mr. ShafaqatHussain, Col. Chief Instructor, Mr. Tariq Jt. Director and newly inducted batch of constables, ASIs, SIs and other officers.
An Awareness Lecture was held at Military Accounts Training Institute which was attended by Deputy Military Accountant General and his team. Ms. Maryam Mannan , Assistant Director, delivered the lecture followed by a question answer session which was handled by Mr. Abaidullah Azam, Director A&P.
NAB team visited Governmet College of Technology Rawalpindi on March 27, 2019. The team consisted of Mr. Aftab Ahmed Khan, Addl. Director, Ms. Maryam Mannan, Asst. Director, and Ms. Julia Barket, Asst. Director. Ms. Maryam Mannan delivered the lecture, regarding working of NAB and achievements , which was followed by cocluding remarks from Mr. Aftab Ahmed Khan. At the end, students participated in Awareness Walk holding placards.

A Quiz Show and Tableau was organized by SLS in coordination with NAB Rawalpindi on 14-12-2018. The topic of the event was “ Faith of NAB – Corruption free Pakistan”. Dr. AamerShahid, Dy. Director NAB, delivered a lecture about anti-corruption. On the basis of the lecture, a quiz competition was held and winners were given prizes.
To commemorate International Anti-Corruption day, NAB Rawalpindi held a seminar titled “Corruption Curbs Economic Growth” on December 06, 2018 at Auditorium, NAB Headquarters. Students, teachers, Government officials and NAB officers attended the event. Justice JavedIqbal, Chairman NAB, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The seminar started with National Anthem, followed by recitation of the Holy Quran. Mr. IrfanNaeemMangi, DG NAB Rawalpindi, in his welcome address, thanked the guests for gracing the occasion with their presence. He also showed his gratitude to the heads of educational Institutions for working in partnership with National Accountability Bureau.

On November 15, 2018 NAB Rawalpindi arranged a seminar, at PMAS Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, titled “Corruption – A crime against Society”. Dr. Prof. Sarwat N Mirza , VC PMAS Arid Agriculture University, was the Chief Guest. More than 250 students and teachers attended the seminar. Dr. AamirShahid, Deputy Director NAB (R), represented NAB and addressed the gathering. He said that in the past the lavish lifestyle achieved through corruption was frowned upon but now a days it has been praised and envied. He further elaborated how educational institutions, teachers and students can play an active role to eliminate this evil.

He further explained working of NAB and how it is performing its duties to mitigate corruption. Prof. Dr. Tariq Javed, Student Advisor, International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) also addressed the audience. He appreciated the efforts of student and lauded the efforts of NAB for highlighting detrimental effects of corruption. At the end, Mr. Aftab Ahmed Khan, Additional Director A&P, distributed gift packs and Certificates among students. A shield was presented to Dr. Tariq Javed on behalf of NAB.
On 24/10/2018 a seminar titled “Corruption – A crime against society” was arranged at National University of Sciences & Technology to create awareness against the menace of corruption among students. After the welcome address, English and Urdu declamation contest was conducted. Brig. Muhammad Ishtiaq, Director, Student Affairs, NUST appreciated the participation of the students. He advised students to play their positive part against corruption. An Essay writing, Speech and Painting competitions were held by Sector Sihala Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad in collaboration with NAB Rawalpindi on 5/10/2018. The topic of the competitions was “Accountability for all”.
