Character Building Societies (CBS)

During the year 2017, NAB Multan has formed almost 5250 x CBS in schools, colleges and universities. The aim of CBS is to educate youth against evil of corruption and inculcate sense of awareness for future character building. NAB Multan is actively maintaining connections with focal persons through sms service and CBS website besides interaction with educational authorities concerned to hold awareness activities on regular basis. Conferences of CBS at Tehsil Kehror Pakka & Dunyapur District Lodhran

  • Overview of the Conference

    NAB Multan in collaboration with CEO District Education Authority (DEA) Lodhran organized conferences of Character Building Societies (CBS) formulated in educational institutions (School) of Tehsil Kehror Pakka and Dunya Pur separately on January 18, 2018 at Government High School Kehror Pakka and Government High School 362/WB Dunyapur.

    Aim:
    The conferences were aimed at educating the faculty members, focal persons and members of character building societies (CBS) about their role, mandate and activities, in addition to administration of oath of the CBS.

    Objective:
    The objective of these conferences was to create awareness among the youth and familiarize them with importance of character building and persuade them to play a pro-active role in developing positive attributes of character.

  • Participants
  • Each of the conference was attended by over 125 participants almost which included:

    1. Mr. Waqas Akram, Assistant Director NAB Multan and Team,
    2. Officers of District Education Authorities Lodhran
    3. 100 x CBS office bearer almost in each of the conference,
    4. Students, faculty members, focal persons and staff.

  • Conference Proceedings
  • The programs were formally started in each of the schools as per below mentioned sequence.

    1. National Anthem
    2. Recitation of Holy Quran and Na’at e Rasool Maqbool (PBUH)
    3. Singing of National songs by the students,
    4. Welcome speech by the Headmaster/ Principal of school
    5. Speech by students / CBS members.
    6. Speech by Mr. Muhammad Nasrullah , Assistant Director NAB Multan,
    7. Oath Taking by Mr. Muhammad Nasrullah, Assistant Director NAB Multan
    8. Closing remarks by the Officers of District Education Authority Lodhran.
    9. CEO / Officers of DEA concerned expressed their views on strengthening character from school level and its subsequent impact on human behavior in terms of value addition. They stressed the need of inculcating the higher ethical, moral and social standards in youth. They encouraged students to partake awareness activities to aware and sensitize others by enhancing character building of their class fellows and colleagues.

    Speech & Oath Taking:
    Mr. Muhammad Nasrullah, Assistant Director NAB Multan highlighted the significance of character and role of character building societies in combating corruption. He highlighted the importance of role models in character building. Moreover, he discussed role of parents, teachers, religion and civil society in building character and personality development. He encouraged the youth to raise voice against corruption by building strong character traits. The teachers and focal persons of CBS were requested to encourage students and coordinate their activities accordingly.
    Mr. Muhammad Nasrullah, AD NAB Multan administered the oath from members / office bearers of all CBS office bearers of the Tehsil Kehror Pakka and Dunya Pur.

  • Distribution of Souvenirs
  • Souvenirs were handed over to the officers of concerned DEAs and Principal/ Headmaster of the schools

  • Conclusion
  • The conferences were a complete success. The response of participants and focal persons was overwhelming and entirely up to the satisfaction that can be expected from an event.

Conferences of Character Building Societies at Tehsil Alipur and Jatoi District Muzaffar Garh

  • NAB Multan in collaboration with CEO District Education Authority (DEA) Muzaffar Garh organized conferences of Character Building Societies (CBS) formulated in educational institutions (School) of Tehsil Alipur and Jatoi separately on February 15, 2018 at Government High School Alipur and Government Girls High School Jatoi.

    The conferences were aimed at educating the faculty members, focal persons and members of character building societies (CBS) about their functions, mandate and activities, in addition to administration of oath of the CBS.

    Objective:
    The objective of these conferences was to highlight significance of character culminating into a corruption free society and persuade them to play a pro-active role in daily life.

    Mr. Muhammad Nasrullah, Assistant Director NAB Multan highlighted the functions and performance of NAB with special focus on NAB Multan. Further he chalked out significance of character and role of character building societies in combating corruption. He highlighted the importance of role models in character building. Seminars / Workshops

  1. SEMINAR ON “PREVENTION, DETECTION AND CONTROLLING FRAUDS IN PUBLIC FINANCE”

    NAB Multan organized a Seminar on the topic “Prevention, Detection and Controlling Frauds in Public Finance” at Multan Arts Council Multan.

  2. Seminar on International Anti-Corruption Day, 9 December, 2016

    Seminar on “Root Causes of Corruption and Suggesting Measures to Eradicate this Menace from Public and Private Sector” was aimed at highlighting efforts of NAB Multan in eliminating this menace from society and to change people’s attitude towards acceptance of corrupt practices. The speakers at Seminar gave awareness and familiarized participants with importance of transparency and rule of law in the society

  3. Seminar at MNS University of Agriculture (MNSUA) Multan on “ROLE OF YOUTH IN ELIMINATING CORRUPTION”

    NAB Multan organized a seminar on Role of Youth in Eradication of Corruption on 14 September, 2017 at Dr. Mehboob Ali Auditorium, Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture (MNSUA) Multan.

Media Interaction

  • NAB M maintained liaison with print and electronic media for projection of activities and performance of the Bureau. Press releases and awareness advertisement are issued for public consumption regularly.

Awareness Competitions

Essay writing, Poetry, Drama / Tableau, Painting / Poster, Declamation

  • During the period a number of awareness competitions at Schools, Colleges and Universities were conducted upon Anti-Corruption themes. Students have actively participated and expressed their resolve, commitment and endeavor against the menace of Corruption and Corrupt practices. Annual competitions have been conducted in 03 categories including Primary level, Secondary level and College / University level on the eve of International Anti-Corruption Weeks and held in 03 phases i.e firstly at each of the 11 Districts, then at Divisional levels and finally at Regional levels. First position holder student / team has been awarded cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- alongwith Souvenir and certificate, 2nd position holder has been awarded cash prize of Rs. 7,000/- alongwith Souvenir and certificate and 3rd position holder has been awarded cash prize of Rs. 5,000/- alongwith the certificate. Besides, an inter university competition was organized by Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan 01.11.2017 upon Anti-Corruption Themes in the categories including Declamation, Painting / Poster, Essay and Poetry.

NAB Multan Theme Song

  • Theme song was got composed and forwarded to A&P Division NAB HQ Islamabad where it will be assessed in a competition amongst all NAB regions to be held at NAB Headquarters. The winning theme song will be crowned as NAB Theme Song for 2017.

Awareness Wall

  • NAB Multan arranged a unique event of painting the Awareness Wall with anti-corruption themes to depict realistic ideas with the help of pictures and caricatures on 30th of Nov 2017. Being a prominent public place for students / educational hub as well as general public, the outer wall of Government Emerson College Bosan Road Multan was selected for the said purpose. Students of public and private colleges and universities participated and expressed their own ideas / perceptions regarding anti-corruption themes.

  • The event was highly appreciated by the public being a real time effort to convey awareness messages at mass level on permanent basis. Media telecasted live coverage of the event including interviews of participants, teachers and general public. The position holders of the competition were awarded certificates, souvenirs and cash prizes.

Adbi Bethak:

  • NAB Multan organized an informal session as Adbi Bethak with intellectuals, writers and poets at Multan Tea House Multan on 12th Dec 2017. Poets, writers and intellectuals presented / expressed their views regarding moral values and ethics of the society and highly appreciated the efforts of NAB Multan to provide a platform of interaction. Mr. Atiq ur Rehman DG thanked the participants and requested for playing active role as opinion leaders of society. He encouraged them to reinvigorate the spirit against corruption in their respective areas of interest.

Radio Talk & TV Interview

  • An interview of DG NAB M on the performance of NAB M and 02 radio programs were aired on FM. 89.4 on the topic: “Procedure for Filing Complaints in NAB” and on “Performance of NAB Multan”. Mr. Abdul Hafeez Khan Director dilated upon the subjects in a professional manner and answer live questions as well
